It is retractable and has a built-in sharpener on the other end of the smudger which is handy. The eyeliner is easy to apply, does not smudge, and stays on all day. The product is supposed to be waterproof but does get dull over the course of the day, particularly if you have oily skin around your eyes. Nevertheless, to prevent it from getting dull, you can use a high-quality concealer under the eyeliner. There are various colors to choose from, and the shades of black and black brown are available for those who are unsure about Slate (which is closer to brown than gray). However, while the majority of buyers enjoy the product, some have had problems. A few people felt that the eyeliner was difficult to apply, and it was tough to get it to stay on the waterline, which is challenging in general. Another person stated that the product was stubborn and would not roll on, while the cap was difficult to open, causing their product to snap. Several Consumers also had trouble with the color and tone, which is personal preference. Finally, a buyer was unhappy that their product arrived damaged, but replacements were not available.
