Creating fabulous shapes in silver, copper, bronze, polymer, and even ceramic clays or sheet metal has never been easier. Using this template with clay is a breeze. Instead of cutting out a complicated pattern, simply press the template into the clay slab and cut around the impression.
To create an impression on clay, start with a plain or textured slab placed on a Cool Tools Tuff Card or any other work surface. Next, position the template over the slab and press it firmly into the clay. Use your fingers to press around the design using firm pressure, or place an acrylic disc or work surface over the template shape and press firmly.
Once you have completed pressing the design onto the clay, remove the template and cut away the excess clay with a needle tool. For clean cuts with the needle tool, start at the outside corners and cut to the inside corners. It is essential to use a very fine needle tool to achieve the best results. Once you have completed cutting the shape, remove the template and lift away the excess clay.
