WizKids Board Games WZK71587 Editorial Review
**** The D&D Attack Wing: Starter Set has emerged as a popular choice among tabletop gaming enthusiasts, particularly those who enjoy flight path system games like Star Wars X-Wing. Combining familiar mechanics with a fantasy theme, the game permits players to command dragons, making it a captivating experience for fans of both Dungeons & Dragons and tactical strategy games. Players have praised the game's addictive nature and ease of understanding, although newcomers might find some game mechanics, such as the movement and damage systems, initially daunting. One of the standout features of this starter set is the quality of the miniatures. Reviewers have noted that the miniatures boast impressive detail, providing an appealing aesthetic that enhances gameplay. However, there are some concerns about the stability of the dragon stands, as the pegs can be a bit loose, leading to the miniatures occasionally toppling during play. This issue can be mitigated by adjusting the number of pegs used. Additionally, while many users appreciated the craftsmanship of the figures, a few felt that the paint jobs could use some refinement. The set is designed to accommodate 2-3 players in quick and engaging matches, although each player is limited to controlling just one dragon unless they opt for expansions. As players progress and become more invested in the game, many find that investing in additional dragon figures is essential for a more dynamic experience, despite some reservations about the total cost. Overall, the D&D Attack Wing: Starter Set is an appealing option for both seasoned gamers and newcomers alike, offering quick set-up times and enjoyable gameplay. While the potential need for expansion packs may give some players pause, the value it provides at its price point has resonated well with the community. **
