For Nearly All Flat Glass ApplicationsOur universal power window conversion kit will work for many classic cars and many custom applications that use flat glass windows, but to make sure our kit will fit your vehicle, here are the important dimensions: Glass must extend down into the door a minimum of 1-1/2” for attachment to the regulator. If current glass is too short, new glass will need to be sourced at a local shop. Tempered glass is highly recommended as it’s both safer and stronger than normal glass. 16” straight up and down travel. Must have a minimum of 1” clearance between glass and door to mount regulator. Tracks measure 20” long x 1-3/8” wide. Motor measures 5” wide x 6-1/4” long. Kit has an overall depth of 2-3/8” Recommended available depth in door cavity of 2-1/2” Must have a minimum of 7” below the glass when the window is at its lowest position.Easy InstallationA flexible actuator makes this power window kit ideal for an upgrade to a classic car or a custom street rod build. The Universal Electric Power Window Kit is a great alternative to using salvage yard parts. Customers found installation to be easy with some modifications needed for certain vehicles. The technical support for the window installation was excellent. Some customers experienced difficulty with the instructions, but Speedway's Tech team provided the necessary information to complete the job correctly. The product is fully adjustable, with a remote-mounted drive motor, making it easy to avoid other car components. Customers were happy with the window speed and motor power. At a great price, the product required some fabrication, cutting and welding, but customers were happy to save a few hundred dollars. The plastic sheathing used in the product is reportedly somewhat brittle, so customers were careful when routing it.
