The Viair 40045 400p is a portable compressor that seems well-Constructed and is fairly quiet. Its auto shut-off feature is well worth the extra cost, but its only complaint is that the included airline has female couplers on both ends, and the compressor is male. Despite this, the compressor is recommended. The compressor is also easy to assemble, with its intake filter and connected hoses fitting together well. The compressor can air up tires quickly and its automatic feature is great, shutting down automatically when not coming up to pressure or pumping air into a tire. The unit is quiet and well-built, and the chuck assembly clamp locks down on the valve stem neatly and with efficiency. The compressor can get hot to the touch but this should not be an issue as it comes with overheat and over pressure safety shut-offs. The case and accessories also appear to be of high quality. Overall, this is a great compressor, very easy to set up and light to carry. The air hose has more than enough length and the compressor is quick and easy to use. The Viair customer service is also outstanding. However, a downside is the lack of hard-wiring connections to battery that have exterior accessible jacks on the vehicle, and the product is on the expensive side. **
